Your smoking history can significantly affect your rate class. Life insurance companies may use your smoking history to determine your rate class .
 
Tobacco Products include pipes, cigars, chewing tobacco, dip, snuff, nicotine patches and gum. Like your cigarette use history, your tobacco use history may also significantly affect your rate class.

IMPORTANT: Height and Weight Guidelines and Medical Guidelines, offer basic guidelines as to how most companies will classify you (preferred plus, preferred, standard) based on medical and personal issues. If you do not meet one or more of the requirements listed in the preferred or preferred plus columns, please select Standard classification when calculating your quotes.

Generally a simplified physical exam is required to obtain most types of term life insurance. The physical exam can be completed at your home or other convenient location. The exam generally takes only about 15-30 minutes and is conducted by a licensed paramedical or medical doctor. The exam generally involves a blood and urine specimen, blood pressure reading, height and weight measurements, and a series of questions regarding your medical history will be asked
